Aaron Perreault, ATC, is our area's only full-time professional licensed Certified Athletic Trainer, addressing sports injuries, fitness and conditioning consulting. An Athletic Trainer is a licensed professional who provides sports injury evaluation, treatment and prevention, plus advises on safe effective conditioning for health and sports performance. Aaron offers consulting to local high schools, athletic organizations and individual fitness buffs on conditioning techniques that boost performance, reduce injury risks, overcome pain problems and injuries. Aaron is particularly skilled with knee, ankle, foot, shoulder problems and fitness consulting. 12 years at SmartCare. The Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist under one roof offers a very valuable combination of skills and knowledge.

 


Elissa Thibodeau, PT, of Andover, ME, has joined SmartCare. Elissa has more than 35 years of PT experience, with a strong Cyriax background. She works with SmartCare part-time.   Elissa specializes in pediatric developmental disabilities, as well as musculoskeletal pain disorders.

 


Allen Wicken, PT, MS, of Rangeley, ME, works with SmartCare's WorkSmart Division providing workplace injury prevention and ergonomics programs.  Allen has worked with Lauren off and on since 1989 as a Work Injury Prevention & Ergonomics expert, providing ergonomics problem-solving, Back Schools, and Neck-Arm MSD School programs for hundreds of workplaces nationwide. Allen also specializes in adaptive home design for the physically challenged and aged. He is Certified as an Aging-in-Place specialist by the National Association of Home Builders.  He also works with the Maine Lung Association providing smoking cessation and wellness programs.  Allen is also very active with disabled veterans' issues, including an adaptive bike trek the length of Viet Nam and extended treks in the US honoring 9/11 victims and most recently an adaptive trek involving disabled Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans.
